There's nothing like a cheap mod that works better than expected to really brighten your day.  The motowheels kit, while nicely done, was too expensive for me, and with the added cost of an ecu reflash it would be about $600.  A bit of reading on the subject suggested that longer velocity stacks would favor low end power over top end, and that they would work with pod filters as long as the filter didn't obstruct the bellmouth of the stack.  Ebuy had a pair of "01-02 Monster S4 - #80210261A" stacks for $35, and a pair of 3"x6" UNI foam filters with 15º angled necks was another $25.  The stacks are 67mm tall and the outer lip of the bellmouth end exactly fits the 3" neck of these filters.  The I.D. of the lower end of the stacks exactly matches the I.D. of my rubber elbow intake boots.  Thanks Ducati.  I wrapped the lower end O.D. of the stacks with some 1mm thick vinyl tape to match the I.D. of the clamping surface of the boots.
These are the longest UNI filters in 3" I.D. and the left one (the vertical cylinder) touches the frame tube and is visible at the front of the bike. There are 4" UNI filters that would hide better, but the 6" works, and needs to have the angled neck.  Couldn't find anything definitive on K&N vs UNI - just lots of opinion.
I really didn't expect much of a performance boost, just figured I'd be losing a couple of pounds of ugly airbox, but the bike is now noticeably snappier low down, from 3-5K RPM. I actually ran a bit wide accelerating into a right turn from the stop sign at the end of my street! These filters are loud, but I usually ride with earplugs...

You have to move the cursor away from the stuff that's already there.

OK, somebody please, how do I post a photo from Photobucket without the link to my album there appearing in my post here?

It doesn't really matter. If you click on the pic, mine for instance. It'll take you to Photobucket.

Asked and answered. You did it correctly with the first picture, but got it slightly wrong when you tried the second.

No, you didn't follow instructions - try again:

Paste first photo link between tags, move the cursor creating a minimum of space before you click on the insert image again. That's all that's missing ( I see what you did when I start to Quote your first post )

Koko, see first post above. Filters are UNI UP-6300AST.
Couple of other notes -
The photo above shows how I mounted the coil to the tab where the airbox was bolted, using the stock coil bracket.  I cut the tubes off and painted it black.
Again, this setup is loud - we'll see if I get used to it. I'm going to line the underside of the tank with some 3/16" adhesive backed foam that I have to see if that helps.  I did that on my Hawk GT and it did.
Also, it really changes the look of the bike - seems sort of empty up front now, but the silver and black plumbing is pretty cool. It actually looks more balanced with the plastic side covers under the seat removed (and you can gaze upon my spiffy 749 shock).

This is the look.  I'm running some 18" Micron cans that extend past the tail, almost to the edge of the rear tire.  I wonder how much this long exhaust tract is improving my low end power.
