I'll be coming up on my 7500mi service for the 796 soon, and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with a shop that could handle it out here in no-man's land (McKinney, Frisco, Allen, Plano.)  I need belts and valves... I'll take care of the rest.  It'll be a pain to go down to AMS to drop the bike off, having SWMBO follow me, and then do it again when they are done.... but I'll do it if that's the best option.

I bought my bike in Plano and they have done all of the service. After 50,000 miles I'd say someone there must know what they are doing.

I know (God forbid) they sell and service other brands there too, but for crissakes even though it is a Ducati, it is still just a machine (regardless of what others may believe).

Where at in Plano?  'Plano' doesn't quite narrow it down.

Well, yes and no.  It is just a machine... and any mechanic (or even me, for that matter...) can read a manual.  What I'm looking for is someone who is familiar with the Ducati and has whatever silly tools needed for a service.  I don't really want to be someone's Ducati learning curve.

...and, seriously, I'm not a brand snob...  I'll take it to Shadetree Cycles if I think that's the best option.  I'm familiar with Maxim Honda (since I still have one of my Hondas...) and I've found their service department to be a little hit 'r miss, I don't know about any of the others.

Mark is referring to:

European Cycle Sports, Avenue K, Suite 300, Plano, TX   972.881.0774
Multi-brand dealer; BMW, Ducati, Triumph, Ural, Buell

And for what it's worth, I use Uber to handle dropping off or picking up my bikes.

What Cher said. They are a Ducati dealer that also sells other brands. They are on Ave K just South of downtown Plano.

I didn't know they were still there... I don't get over there very often any more.  I actually test drove an ST2 or 3 out of there, many years ago.
