Gas caps

why are there 2 different gas caps ....2006 s2r dark has 5 screws  a 2005 620 dark has 3 screws  whats the scoop on that and could you put a 3 screw on a 5 ? ie  leaving the empty holes underneath

There's only 3 screws that actually hold the cap to the filler ring, at ~ 5,7, and 12 O'clock.

The other 2 are decorative.

All gas caps '94-'07, so all Monsters prior to 696/796/1100 for sure, will interchange.

Steel IE tanks use a filler ring, steel carbie and all plastic do not.
