I know it has pros and cons, but, seems fairly easy to build; to the gurus here, what would you modify?

If by guru you mean some cat in a do-rag and a diaper, then I qualify! First thing - fill in that empty space at the front with something shiny.

Me, I would moify it all. frame, suspension, motor, you know the little things
Ooohhh.... you meant the stand. run an arm to the rear of th motor so you can pull swing arm off, ect
