Anyone familar with any the roads in WVA just West of Harrisonburg?  I'm looking at Rt 250, Rt 228, 33.  Looking for a good day of hard riding, light traffic, decent road conditions.

250 and 33 are both awesome roads. You can try Route 39 too. If you get far enough west, Route 20 south of Buckhannon is a great road. Route 15 between 20 and 219 is twisty and scenic.

Hard to go wrong really. West of Harrisonburg, it is best to be on Rt.33 all the way to Elkins. Where are you going? Anytown specific? Marlinton, Clarksburg, Buckahannon?

I've pretty much been through most of the roads in that area....

Thanks for the feedback.  Not going anywhere special, just know that this region has some good roads and trying to map out possible routes.  Probably won't go all the way to 79.  I've been leaning toward 250 E out Staunton and then head N on 220 or 28 and from there just get lost.  If you zoom in there are some real crazy looking roads (Long Run, Vepco).  I want to avoid rds like 33, but I don't want to run into any unpaved roads and I especially don't want to hear  "boy, you ain't from around here now are you?".

My father has house in mass-of-nuthin (E of Harrisonburg) so it's a good starting point for that neck of the woods.  I'm actually up in Mt Airy MD, so this is an easy trip down to HB for a visit and then take the long way round to get back home.
