Cool video on frame design

 I watched this on the Red Bull Racing website. I found it interesting that KTM is using a steel tube frame when Ducati moved away from it in racing.

Wondering if KTM has some type of better design or material type or has Ducati simply experienced and surpassed the engineering KTM is learning now in MotoGp?

Ducati got rid of steel GP frames, I figure, b/c they couldn't be consistent enough. Stoner said each steel frame felt very different from the next.   Not sure its a material issue, may be the welding and cutting precision. With carbon, the design was not so easily changeable in terms of its lateral rigidity.

This ^^^ The reason they moved away from the trellis was specific to not being able to reproduce the same feel. many assumed that it was because of the welds.

  I read about the materials and welding also. Riders not adapting to the feel of the frame (Rossi) and tire manufacture are also what I've read.

I thought I had read that the trellis frame was dropped because it restricted airbox dimensions while the C/F did not.
