My 2000 900ie is putting out 70psi at idle...should I be worried about a plugged passage somewhere?

Speeddog

IMO, no.

Per the manuals, 87psi is the maximum you should ever see.

Your 70psi, is that cold, hot, ???

70psi cold...haven't warmed it up yet...just got it all assembled.  When revved it goes up to 90ish

Speeddog

You should be fine, but report back on hot pressure at idle and 3k rpm or so.

What oil viscosity are you running? 20w50 or 10w40?

20w50 will result in higher heat, higher oil pressure and lower mpg.

Peruse the oil sticky for additional info.

Running 10-40w.  I'll wait and see what the pressure drops to once it's warm.
