DESMO's Eighth Annual BBQ and Bike Show will be held on Sunday,
August 17, 2008, at Thomas Bull Park (Orange County) in Hamptonburgh,
NY. Just like last year, we have a private section reserved with
covered picnic tables, a softball diamond, a playground and a
volleyball court. There is plenty of room (and shade) for you and
your family, and all are invited. It's a great chance for you to
spend the day with your family and with your friends, in a safe, kid-
friendly environment.

For the first time ever at our BBQ, DESMO will concurrently host a
(Ducati-only) Swap Meet. For information on selling, please
contact: swapmeet @ desmoducati. org. This will be our 4th Swap
Meet, and it will be a great opportunity to empty your closets and
garages of spare parts…or pick up that elusive spare part.

This year also marks our Fourth Annual Bike Show. Last year we had
about five dozen entries spanning 45 years of Ducati history and we
awarded trophies in 6 Award categories:
Best of Show
Best Superbike
Best Supersport
Best Tourer
Best Monster
Best Vintage

Not only will you get to see pretty much every model of late, but
you'll also get to see some great vintage Ducati singles and twins,
plus the occasional Bimota and Cagiva. Many of our members own some
fantastic motorcycles (new and old), and they're always eager to
share their piece of history with us.

For information on participating in the Bike Show, please email
bikeshow @ desmoducati. org.

As always, we'll host our World Famous door prize raffle (with swag
from some of our favorite sponsors, in addition to some new
sponsors). Last year we raffled off helmets, battery tenders,
trackdays, bike locks, hats, shirts, tools, gift certificates,
jackets, oil, billet accessories, helmet bags. I don't think anyone
went home empty-handed.

We've already received some fantastic donations, and we're always
very appreciative of our sponsors.

This will be our largest BBQ everâ€"please don't miss out. This is your
chance to meet and mingle with scores of Ducatisti, talk about and
show off your bike, share your trackday experiences, check out the
bling on everyone else's bike, and visit (or sell in) a Swap Meet. We
had over 100 participants share in last year's fun, and we're gunning
for lots more people and working on lining up some special
surprises.

the grill and bring us Orange County's tastiest menu. Tons of fun and
tons of food! This year's menu includes:

Hamburgers/Cheese Burgers/Hot Dogs
Sausage and Peppers
Pulled Pork
St. Louis Spare Ribs
Peppercorn Pork Tenderloin in a Brandy Cream Sauce
Hot Smoked Sausage
BBQ Chicken
Red Potato Salad
Corn on the Cob

And much, much more

The price for adults is $27.50 each with children under 12, $13.75

IndustrialGrrrl,
Do people who rode with leathers end up wearing them all day at the BBQ? Thx.

Grrrly

people that ride bring a back pack and bring shorts and change of clothes, as well as to bring back goodies from the raffle.   [thumbsup]

After changing, do folks carry the backpack around or is there a way to secure it?  Or is it okay just to leave it at one of the table?  I doube anyone wants my 10 year old leathers, but I wouldn't want to squid my way home in flip-flops and shorts.

froggert

most people just leave their gear by the picnic tables or on their bikes.  we haven't had any issues in the past.

For NYMMCers who are in NYC and immediate area, this event will be a nice destination as you can ride some nice roads on the way up (considering the weather will cooperate).  Then, you'll get to eat lunch, rest and have fun.

Any suggestions aside from 106, 218, and Bear Mtn?

Pakhan

As Howie reminded me the other day, DESMO-ites might have no love for me.  ;D

I might try to make it anyhow though, I have never been one that is too concerned about being liked.

Pakhan, do come!  Probably 99% of the people don't know or forgot about you and the rest will forgive you ;D

I did a route earlier this month. Since I've gone further north, I'll only indicate the route up until 84 since Thomas Bull Park is just south of 84 and east:
Instead of writing it out in detail, how do i mapped using googlemap or any other and then somehow post it ?? (if doable)

Got Duc

Damn!

I will be headed to Saint Maarten on that day.  ;D
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

You need to create an account with google map, create the map, then save it and post the link on DMF
Here's the log-in page for google map:

Thanks, I'll give it a try again. I neglected to mention that I do have a google account and was fiddling around trying to map it using lines.  I'll use place marks instead and will post.

Howie

Just a bump since the 17th is getting closer.

This event is open to all you DMF folks including Pakhan;D  Just follow the PayPal instructions
