I've had my 2002 M750 for 5 years or so, and love the bike. I'm 58 now, and just had hand surgery, and would like to sit a little more upright. I even went and looked at a Harley Roadster, but decided that I'd rather try to mod my bike to get her where I need her to be. I just got a Sargent seat for her, and have bar risers that bring the stock bars about 1 1/4".
I need bar recommendations. I've read a lot on here, and it seems that folks that want to get a more comfortable/upright riding position like the Rizoma MA008, which is now the MA009. Any other suggestions? I'd like this to work with my stock cables, and they're about at the limit with the bar risers. I'm willing/hoping to get a bar that allows me to ditch the bar risers and just go with different bars. My bars are 7/8" nontapered.
I'm also considering getting the adjustable footpegs, to lower my pegs a bit.
It'd be great to hear from someone whose done what I'm trying to do, and I'm open to suggestions from all.

You can get more upright by getting bars with more pullback, too. Lots of options if you look here:

Other brands may give you other options for hand position, too. I know one old guy running dirtbike bars that are maybe 4 or 5 inches tall with the stock cables/hoses.

With some fiddling and re-routing, the hoses, wires, and cables can accommodate taller bars/risers.
The front brake hose is the most limiting of the bunch, you may need to get a longer one.

I put some Renthal road/low bars on my M695, which have more rise and pullback than the stock bars, and I'm using the 1 1/4" bar risers. Big difference, and the setup fits the 695 without changing any of the wires or hoses. Using the risers allowed me to back off the steering stops for a tighter turning radius as well, but I don't know if the fit would be the same on your 750. So, I put Renthal High bars on my M750. They work with the standard hoses/cables. I had lower bars and risers on. I bought the bike used, and don't know if the bars that were on it were stock. The Renthal high bars are maybe a little higher and a little narrower with a little more pull back than the lower bars with risers. Not much of a difference, but a little. There's no way to go higher with my current brake/clutch hoses. Thanks again for the advice.

Lowering/forwarding pegs make quite a differnce overall and for your knees.
An inch lower and a little forward does more than you think.
I`ve used these

John, be aware that if you lower your footpegs, you may have issues with your pegs or forefoot hitting the ground when turning, if you're a sport rider and use a lot of lean. I'm no racer, but I like the more tucked leg position you get with more rearset pegs, so I put ST peg brackets on my M695, which raised the pegs and moved them back and in. I don't care much for the look of my bar risers, so I just don't look at them much
which is easy because they're black like the fork clamps.
