I have bullett connectors on those yellow wires going to the R/R.

Does it matter how the wires connect?

97 M900 here - 3 sets of double wires: 2 yellow (#1 & #2),  2 red (#3 & #4) & white (#5) and black (#6).

The bullet connectors I have are all yellow - does not appear to be any order how they are connected.

Greenohawk69 has a single-phase charging system, so only two yellow wires.

Stopintine has a 3-phase system, so 3 yellow wires.

Neither system is sensitive to which yellow wires from the stator get connected to which yellow wires on the R/R.

I agree. I had cut wires for all 3.  I just connected them in a random order. The voltage reg just needs to see 3 legs.
