I have heard of guys shortening their mufflers because after a tail chop is done they hang out a bit far. I have the Termi carbon cans, how is this done? is there a write up anywhere?

thanks

dont know if there is a write up on the new board, try the search feature.

Basically you take cans apart, drill out rivits or whatever.  Tape off the end or the carbon can, Not the end where it mounts to the frame. Figure how much you want to cut and make a line. Use a cut off wheel on a dremel or something similar. DO NOT BREATHE CARBON DUST. Then cut the same ammount off the inner perf core. Re-assemble and your done.

Good luck. I never could get past taking the cans apart on my stock ones. The outer sleave on mine would never slide down. I'd be hesitant to mess with the Termis in case of a slip up. But that's just me  :-\

It's really much more daunting than it actually is difficult.

Don't be afraid.

If you can get a hold of one a pivoting bandsaw cuts cans pefect my friend has one it took about 20 minutes per can but the cut is very percise. If you have a shop yhat cuts alot of metal tubing they could probally do it pretty easy the saws are expensive so i would not buy one.
