PC III arrived in the post today
«

Have got a good deal on a PCIII, so some fun to be had over the next couple of evenings, have the K&N filter to go in and have made my own adaptor rather than chop the airbox. Not expecting big power gains but with the open airbox and pipes she is running way too lean so the PCIII should sort that. Should be a nice rainy day project anyway.

Thanks for the advice, will contact Alex at LAE today.
Pretty east install and setup, took about two hours, had a bit of trouble routing the front cylinder cables so they wouldn't rub on the throttle body actuators, worked out what I did wrong in the end though, tried to do it without
in hand.
Have loaded a "canned" map that is pretty close to what I have at the moment, but have not taken it out on to the street yet. Starts, runs and gives live info back to the laptop, so now the fun part begins...

Good thinking Brimo about Alex...
there was a very interesting article in Ride magazine (august 2007) about PC mapping - one of the editors (john Milbank) had 30 odd years bike experience and restored a S4 then installed a PC and downloaded a fairly close map - then fiddled with it....
...then took it to an expert who was able to show him how much better he could do it!
PM me with your email address and I'll send you the PDF..it's a good read!

Loaded a canned map from the pc website and took the bike out for a fang down the motorway then up through the twisties, better on/off throttle response, less popping on overrun and seems a lot more urge after 6k rpm, will do me until I can get the dyno tune done, very pleased.

good to hear - I'm thinking of getting one (from the states) - keep an eye on your fuel economy as well and post your findings!
Have a great ride

keep an eye on ebay, got mine brand new in box $230 to my door. There has also been a few used units cheaper than that.

Not much to report at the moment, spare time has been limited due to work commitments, renovations and baby making (we're on the IVF program), so have not made a date with the dyno, however pretty happy with the canned map from the PC website, it will do for the time being..but definitely dyno within the next month.

Brimo, for the good of the group, can you give some more details on PCIII installation...
did you have to remove the airbox to get to the connectors?
I've searched the forum - and even read the instructions - and no luck!
I can see the connectors - just can't get anywhere near em...sort of like girl's breasts when I was a teenager

No, did not need to remove the airbox to get at the injector connections, though in hindsight it may have made things a bit easier, it just took some nimble fingers to get in there. Mine is an S2R 800 so access to the injectors may be a bit different than on your bike, plus I'm an electrical tech so am used to fitting this sort of thing. My main problem was routing the cables in between the throttle actuators so that they didn't rub with throttle use and vibration and end up wearing through the insulation.
May just be a case of having to remove whatever is in the way.
And remember just like access to those elusive mammary glands, perseverance pays off.

I think in both cases it's the size of my hands that are intimidating...I keep whispering "i'll be gentle", but no play!
I just went downstairs to locate the TPS connector to splice the grey wiretap onto - I don't EVEN have an orange wire coming from it, I'm stuffed...leaving it for Dean at Dynoverks - he's the maestro apparently.
