Morning Ducati Gods -

This doesnt count as a Monster but hoping the collective minds can help me out.

Purchased a 2003 Ducati 800SS that I'm going to turn into a cafe racer. It was used as a track bike so has not electronics. The beauty is that it has a dry clutch conversion chug.

For an 03 800SS three questions:
     - Can I cut and add a 916/996 subframe?
     - Whats the biggest motor I can shoe horn in here? 900SS, 1000DS without make the beast with two backsing with the rear shock?
     - Will a SSS from a 916/996 mount up without any issues or will this really complicate matters?

Yes, a 916/996 subframe can be cut/fabbed into place.
Not sure how well the SBK tail & seat will fit up with the SS tank.

AFAIK, rear shock mount is in the same position relative to the motor for *all* SuperSports other than the brand new one.
So 900 or 1000 engine would bolt right up.
Likely even an 1100 would fit if it has the proper swingarm pivot configuration.

SBK SSS have the swingarm pivot bearings in the swingarm, whilst SS have it in the engine.
And the width at the pivot is different.
And they have a linkage for the shock, not a cantilever setup.

I can throw a monster 1100 motor into this thing or a DC1000?

You know asking that kind of question here is going to cost you a ton of Pics. We expect payment when the work is done.
