My monster runs 4-pad SBK calipers and narrow-band rotors.  One of the 8 pads is worn and I need to think about replacements.  Ferodo CP211 have been good to me for canyon carving despite the "race only" warnings.  Nice feel and not too grabby, just watch the first 1-2 applications until they get some heat in them.  I've been happy.  Unfortunately, it seems the CP211 is now NLA in my size.

Should I expect the same good manners from the updated "totally new" CP1 compound?

Sounds like you'll find out. ;D

I run Dunlop Pad HH+ pads on my 4pad SBK. Not quite as harsh a bite as the 'racing' pad I run on my street Monster with 2 pad calipers.

I'm hoping it'll be good, I've been very happy with the CP211s I've used.

One or two normal easy stops warms em up enough for me.

Thx guys.  Will report back on the CP1, and if those are not to my liking will go sintered (DP HH+).  Too bad CP1 is $$.  Biggest concern is "too much brake" for this little canyon monster, which CP211 + 16mm MC handled quite well.

I would expect the fundamental character of the pads to be similar.

I talked to Jeff Gehrs at Braketech.

CP1 is longer wearing with slightly less grip than CP211.

CPro is the latest, upgraded version if CP1, with increased grip.

The 4-pad calipers may still be available in CP211, as the transition to CPro is not complete.

Good info, thanks.  CPro is new to me.  CP1 seems to have been relatively short-lived.  Couldn't find any 749/999 application match at the braketech website, so I'll call and see what's up.  I guess all the cool kids are running radial calipers these days.

I stalled as long as I could waiting for the new CPro compound to become available.  Put on some CP1 the other day and I have to say that I like them more than the CP211 I was running before.  Bite and grip are good/more and not too much.  I am using a little less lever pressure I think.  Warmup has not been an issue.  If they last longer all the better.  No track, just canyons.   [thumbsup]
