Is this typical Glazing or do I need new Rotors

I bought new rear brake pads for my 2005 620 Dark and upon further inspection realized I still had maybe a couple mm life left in my old ones so left em on and waited too long. Next thing I know I feel my brakes grinding and sure enough I wore the pads down to the metal backing. In doing so it left some melted metal deposits on my rotor which aint coming off with scotch brite pads. 150 Grit sandpaper did much better but I still have deposits I can feel on the rotor. I've heard some folks claiming you can melt these off or that the new pads will remove them when riding (the new pads are organic so not so sure about that) but I'm trying to determine what my best course of action is here. Do I need to buy a new rotor? Keep Sanding? Torch it? or Put the pads on and ride it till they're gone. Thoughts? (beyond I'm a dumbass)

I'd guess you are below minimum thickness. Either way, no amount of sanding is going to give you flat rotor surfaces, you need a lathe for that... And I suspect you will be below minimum thickness after you turn it.

Probably cheaper in the end to just buy a new rotor, and it's what I'd do in your circumstances.

Some folks say rear rotors arent worth the money since the front does all the work. Any opinions on rotor brands? The options I'm seeing right now are:

Bikemaster for $72
EBC MD2002 for $100
EBC ProLite for $120
OEM Ducati for $164
Used OEM under $70

Metalgear in Australia are worth a look. Aussie dollar is in freefall and shipping is cheap.

I'd put the used OEM on, and not worry.

Vee Two is only ebay selling off old stock. Metal gear seem quite affordable. From what I have read their discs are ok but pads had mixed reviews.
