So , I know that the Rizoma grips look bad a@@, but how do they hold up for every day driving. I mean can I expect them to last for 5 years 15k? I am mostley interested in the lux style. I am somewhat concerned that the rubber will wear prematurely.

Mine have been on there for about 2k miles and they really don't seem to be wearing that great.  I can see the rubber grips having to be replaced after 8k-10k miles.  Haven't looked, but not sure if I can buy just the rubber part or will have to replace the whole thing.

I've had mine for over 20k miles.  The rubber grips wear, and I've replaced mine with tennis racquet grips.

mine have a few thousand miles on them and look just like when i bought them. I think they re designed them because i have a different rubber than pictured in a previous reply. Someone also told me that they used to have them and mine looked like the rubber was  better than theres were. I`ll post a pic tomorrow if i can. Anyway I love em.

Pompetta,
are you referring to the tape used for tennis racquet grips? I just installed some on my bike and would love to know what exactly you used so I know what to purchase when I face that dilemma.

Thanks.  [thumbsup]

The pic above have the old rubber inserts that don't last that long.  I had them on my bike and they were good for a couple of months.  The newer rubber inserts last much longer, I've had them on my bike for almost a year and they still look new.  PJ's sells the rubbers for about $5 each if I recall correctly.

Sorry for the thread jack, but if anyone has any spare cams for the Rizoma Sport grips, please PM me and I would be more than happy to buy them from you.  I am in the process of installing the grips and broke the cams...

as for the OP, the BOM has cloth-wrapped grips...  Maybe he'll pipe in with what exactly he did.

Thanks!

Mine lasted about 20k (just over a year) miles. First the rubber sleeves wore; replaced- twice. Then finally the throttle grip ate it; the inner plastic sleeve came loose from the aluminum and the grip it self would spin on heavy acceleration. I tried to fix it by removing the inner sleeve and then gluing it back in but the plastic thing ended up breaking when I tried to get it out. So I bought new grips - Harri's Monster rubber ones and all is well.

The Rizoma CAN be fixed and are for sale if anyone wants them for $20.00 w/ shipping.
What would ScoobyDoo?

Yes.  It doesn't look the best, but they're comfortable.
