air pump that fits underseat?

Any recommendations for a small tire pump that fits under the seat, preferably in the handy little compartment?

Manual or powered OK.  Less interested in CO2.

Strictly for roadside get-me-home situations.

They even have one that runs off a spark plug hole ....

Why not CO2 ?  They come with a twisting valve to make it easy...

I have stopngo pump posted above.

It won't fit under seat storage space.

It is okay quality-wise, not that great but for that kind of price, it's decent.

If you are thinking about "compressor", I like this one better. (I also have this one.)

This may fit under seat storage compartment, IF you don't put anything else.

I know you are not so interested in CO2 tire inflator, but I still show you this video (which I posted about 2 years ago.)
If you don't have patience, skip to 9:06 where the real fun begins.

For the hand pump, I recommend LEZYNE Alloy Drive M. (I have this one, too.)
They come in two sizes, S and M. They are both High Volume. (The hand pump, you want "low pressure, Hi Volume Pump (for mountain biking), as opposed to "High pressure, Low Volume pump (for road bikes).)

The Small is easier to pack (will fit under seat), but it requires more pumping.

Here's the detailed review of them both.

I just finished moving into the new place, most everything is still packed and I really can't do the "fitment text" now.

This is my preferred set up.

Thanks, guys.  That's great info.  I figure I've pushed my luck long enough and should start carrying something to help get back home if I lose pressure.  My last Dunlop Q3+ rear lasted all of 25 miles before picking up a little 1/8" branch.  Sort of a reminder for me.  I do have AMA, but cell coverage can be sketchy where I ride.

I guess CO2 could be an option, but you need to carry multiple.  The Aerostich pump is 3" diameter, so no-go for under the seat.  My compartment measures 6 x 8.5 x 1" (with about 1.5" in the center).  I've yet to see a compressor that'll fit that small space - might be asking too much.

I have an older Lezyne carbon for my road bike.  Recipe for a sore elbow to pump up a moto tire, but that could do the trick in a pinch.

The one time I used my kit, for a friend, we reached ~35 psi with two cartridges...

Sounds like I need cartridges + a minipump for redundancy/top-ups.  Plus a plug kit.

S21, what is the diameter of your Lezyne?  The 216mm length should work, but not sure about the height.  Can't find that spec.

I think mine is in the storage unit right now ...  and I'm off to work in about 30 min.

HOWEVER, ....

REI's website says 7.2 x 1.1 x 1.1 inches, (but they don't carry this anymore.)
https://www.rei.com/product/779851/lezyne-alloy-drive-mini-pump

Aerostich site says 9"×1.25"×1.25"
http://www.aerostich.com/a-to-b-utilities/tools/tire-repair/pumps-air-compressors/alloy-drive-m.html

So, I would say, 1.25" max. ( I can measure in my next day off, which is Wednesday.)

Oh, and buy 20g cartridge, instead 16g. (That's what I carry now.)

That would be awesome if you could get some measurements on the Lezyne pump.

This compressor might just fit in the underseat compartment.  The middle section of the compartment is just over 1.5", about the same as the specified dimension of the pump.

So,I measured my Lezyne Alloy Drive M.

Over all length : 258mm
Diameter : 32.5mm

Thanks for the measurements!  Too big for the compartment, but I'll bet there's a spot to hide it away somewhere under there....

The Dynaplug micro inflator is a perfect fit for the underseat compartment.  [thumbsup]

Lid closes normally.  No modification necessary and room to spare for other goodies.  Quality of the pump seems very high.  No regrets on the purchase.  I understand that the Motopumps Airshot is identical and is a rebranded Dynaplug unit.  Will pair with the Nealy skinny ropes.

I liked the idea of the Nealey rope system and it comes well-regarded on other MC sites, but I paid 3+ weeks ago and still can't get anyone to reply to email or voicemail about the unshipped item.  They seem to be having operational issues these days.  I later ordered Safety Seal over the phone, which was promptly shipped.

I tested the Safety Seal on a spare rear tire and quickly learned why their tool is so stout.  It takes quite a bit of effort on a dismounted tire!  Use the lube and use the slim ropes where possible (two different diameters are available).  There are differing opinions on this, but for me a sticky rope repair is to limp home so the tire can be replaced.

*11/17/18 update.  My bad - the Nealey kit did arrive, but my wife set it aside somewhere and forgot to tell me.  I discovered/tested it today and I think it'll work well.  The black rubberized tar coating on the rope is a bit messy.  The thinner ropes and small overall footprint is nice for this application.*
