Cat 1 hurricanes = tie a trashbag to your bicycle handle bars and kite down the street.

Nah, its SUPPOSED to go due west after landfall near Brownsville. We're not supposed to get more than 50 or 60 mph winds, or I would have bugged-out yesterday.
Some more shot thru the bedroom windows (now that it has started pouring again):

I think a bicycle with a trashbag tied to it would be a more stable structure than my condo. They are very cool and in a great spot, but I have no idea how they have lasted this long!

So Jimmy, any structural damage yet?  You've got to be a little soggy by now?

My Sis-in-law calls me from Seatlle...the local news up there says Corpus has been washed away and is now the new Atlantis.....you've got to be kidding me right?  Anything to sell ad space, I guess....

Drink more wine....works for me

Ha-ha, hadn't been outside yet to see what the building looks like, but it's STILL storming a lot harder than when I took those pix. I live on Ocean Dr. right by the water, but most of the city is up on a 10'-20' bluff and we're inside the barrier island, so we tend to escape the surge damage they may be getting out on the Island. Hopefully it will be dying down soon and I can take my Jeep out there and see what's what. Hope to be in Austin next Wed. to see ya'll at Ming's...

some 50 lb chunks of the breakers washed up:

bugs and cactus everywhere, man!

I'm on my way down to the valley today. My folks live in Bayview, TX just south of where the eye tracked.
