Advice on A/F Re-mapping

Hi All, I'm a long time Monster rider. over 10 years. Going on my third Monster starting with a 620 dark, 1000s, and now a 2005 S4R.

I got a full exhaust system a little while back, Marving mid-pipe with cat-eliminator to a GP 2 to 1 exhaust. It's safe to say I'm running a bit lean in places and things can be smoothed out a bit.

I'm looking to have my air fuel remapped and wanted to know what the most effective and low-cost method would be. What would I need and would I need someone to custom tune it? If so, any recommendations for the San Diego area?

I somehow bought the model of S4R that doesn't have an O2 sensor so cheaper quick fixes don't seem to be an option. I've been reading forum posts on this topic for a while now and find myself overwhelmed. Anyone have a consensus?

Get a power commander and get it dyno tuned. Can’t help with recommendations for a shop.

Is there such a thing as an S4R without sensors? Doesn't that bike have a closed loop lower revs fueling management based on sensors?

'05 S4R is a Desmoquattro, and no O2 sensor.

S4Rs and S4Rt were Testastretta and had O2 sensors.

Besides a Powercommander and dyno tuning there are probably ECU re flash options from Rexxer. Worth a call to our sponsors Motowheels and Monsterparts regarding PCIII and Rexxer tuning.
I personally like dyno tuning and favor Powercommanders however some products are no longer available so a re flash may be your only option. A DP ECU for that model year is another option if they are still available as NOS. Then there's ebay.

With a full exhaust system it may be running leaner but if the bike has an open airbox it could be considerably leaner. With the correct tuning this combination could really increase performance.

I also think the most effective tuning option will not be the cheapest. Since the bike doesn't have an O2 sensor in the way a tuning device can be used to control fuel delivery unhindered by the ECU over riding it.
