Anyone have a good reason I shouldn't buy a leftover new one?

Too late. Any reason I shouldn't have bought  this?

For background, this is the replacement for a quite long in the tooth V-Strom. We've ridden several other bikes as 2-up solutions... GS's and Multi's are way more expensive, Japanese and Austrians are way more dirt-focused/tall. Pillion-in-a-milion reports, "Shit, we're buying this bike!" after less than 5 minutes on it.

Turbulence?

Half of a 1260S ?

The best pillions call themselves co-rider.... she's like that?

Turbulence is unnoticeable (compared to a stock Strom and a presumable stock 1250 GS). The windscreen just moves the cold wind off my neck without  annoying buffeting or extra noise. She reported a very smooth ride with no buffeting, too.

It's a 1200 with 125 manufacturer hp... it's no slouch. All the buttons to include ABS, Traction control, fancy electric suspension, riding modes, and cruise control.

I think if she thought of a word to call herself while riding on the back of a motorcycle it would likely be something like co-rider :D.

Fuel gauge is already buggered, but apparently that was a thing with them. Good thing it has warranty.

It appears to be an excellent Grand Touring machine for a Gentleman and his GLW  [wine].

Not usual to have so little turbulence so far behind a screen - thumbs up for Aprilia.

My "Half of a 1260" question was about the price  ;)

I keep looking at these myself. Very underated and often overlooked. Used prices seem very appealing and they don’t sell quickly in the UK. Keep posting how you get on with it, as the miles add up.  [thumbsup]
