hey guys, i'm still pretty much a complete newbie so sorry guys bare with me if u can :-\

i'm sort of a new resident of port jefferson, long island (around SUNY Stony Brook) and my monster needs a few things... i need my 6000 mile service including the important valve adjustment (but it would be great if i could get the whole bike looked over since i bought it used) AND i need an inspection... any places i can go and prices perhaps?

i know GLantern is around here *wink wink* if you're reading... thanks guys

I purchased my bike from a guy out in port jefferson 3 blocks from the LIRR. That place is boring as hell. sorry.  [laugh]

There is Gold Coast, Formula 1 and Chronic. ive heard very good stuff about chronic and gold coast. If you dont have a truck, Gold coast is 5 blocks from the LIRR. And welcome to the board!

+1 Chronic. I got my new tires there when I got my bike and had them check the bike over because I didn`t trust the place I bought it from. (it is in LI but I won`t name names. It was  supposed to be a very high end reputable shop.) Good guys over there. They will be doing my 12k service soon. I also believe that they will pick up your bike for you if need be.

I would totally say chronic is your best bet i intend on bringing my 1098 there as soon as i hit the 7500mile service.  Speaking of which i should change my oil hmmm.  I have heard nothing but amazing things about chronic. [thumbsup]  If GC is around he would definitely be able to chime in on how great they are.

Actually found his link from TOB enjoy the write up

I would also say Chronic.

Goldcoast has been getting some decent reviews recently.

Good call on choosing Chronic man. They did alot of performance work to my monster as well as regular service and the work was always top notch. Their honest guys and very fair. I believe the 6k service will probably run btwn 6-8 bills.

+1 that is where I bought my bike. I  thought it was a reputable shop but I got such a bad vibe from the owner. I guess because I wasn`t spending 35k on a Bimoto, they really didn`t want to deal w/ me.

I actually got a similar story about a retired cop owned it and he upgraded to an S2. I didn`t trust them after I picked it up, so when I got my new tires put on at Chronic I had them check it over for me to make sure the 6k service was done and everything was ok. I guess I got lucky.

I think the owner is a retired state trooper - whatever the case, the guy is a real class act.

My registration was done incorrectly (don't ask me HOW thats possible) and right now I'm trying to get 3 tickets cleared. My registration sticker expired (April 2008), however my registration document is valid (April 2009). Apparently he put the wrong sticker on my bike.
