I'll post what I just sent in response to herm's pm-

Hey Kevin,

Scary times huh? I hope that you guys are doing ok.

Feel free to keep in touch if you want

snip

Thanks for reaching out. Scary times indeed. Never figured I'd seen anything like this in my lifetime.

We are nervous but ok. Cindy has been working from home for the past couple weeks. The shop closed initially per Governor orders and I laid off all 8 guys.  I was able to get an exemption to stay open so we had four guys come back last week.

They all freaked out, rightly so, and don't want to come back. So 2 are coming in next week to finish a couple jobs then they're gone.

Two others are going to work the next couple weeks to get some stuff done and we see how things look then.

Still waiting to see what the government cooks up to keep us going that isn't a 4% loan. I have enough holes to dig out of already.

I think we'll be ok in the long run. Maybe smaller, but ok.

Kev,

I snipped herm's phone number from your post. He doesn't likely need any more spam calls on his phone. waytogo

We sent all but about 30 people home for 2 weeks with pay. That ended on Friday.  Then the state shut everything down. Thursday and Friday work laid off around 150 with maybe more to come. Head count was 380. We can stay open and only work on essential orders - firetruck computer mounts, EMS stuff, and mounts for trucks. UPS is a big customer.

We did get an 8,000 piece order for hardware to mount tents for drive thru testing. Novel use of our product that someone came up with.

I have been in every day, and will continue to do so. Work and home. Once a week to the grocery store. I am the only car on block that goes out every day.

I sit in on meetings ( via phone from my office) with the owners and directors. Somehow, I am in charge of our response plans. I'm thinking that when it is all said and done and business is back to normal, I better get some extra vacation time. And a new title - Director of Environmental Health & Safety sounds good.

waytogo Glad you're all ok and holding up.

GLW and three of the four kids have lost their jobs. One kid and I are in essential services so very busy and have to be careful not to bring anything home. Glad I have that job as bike work will soon stop for the FY.

All still healthy. Glad I have a home gym and bike project.

We are approaching a stage 3 lock down. Our State is ahead of the others with restrictions and shut downs, so I try and ride to work as often as possible. The roads are quiet.

We keep track of the pandemic around the world. For us winter is coming.

Hey Peeps,

Glad to hear folks are managing.

We seem to be doing well here in Maine, but I think we are just too far down East to have the hammer really drop yet. Ddan and I had a pretty good conversation last night, and he shared a pretty sobering website that he found (link at the bottom.)

My family and I are doing well. SWMBO works from home anyway, and her employer isn't laying anyone off.

As for my work.... Obviously, no one is getting laid off, and there's all kinds of over time. Not sure if the perks are worth it right now though..

My kids are home and I've taken to homeschooling them.

Paula already worked from home so she hasn't noticed a huge difference. Her customers are all working on this, so she's supporting them, and I'm supporting her. We haven't gone anywhere for weeks.

We're fine for now.

Nothing more I can do.

I live in Raleigh, NC. working from home. and hating it. None of my systems and structures are here or in effect. Don't like mixing my home with my work. Not afraid of getting sick myself but worried about our society, country, world. I work for CPS. Concerned for all our families.
I feel we in the US went through this at 9/11. That's all that compares with me.
Not good times.

Dustykitska (my loving wife) and I have been home with out cat now for almost two weeks.  We are in New Mexico.

We’re not in a total lock down, but a lot of businesses are closed.  We can still go out for walks & drives without having a specific destination.  It seems about half the population is abiding by the mandates.  Schools are closed.

I’ve been working from home and Dustykitska was searching for a job at the time of the outbreak.  So, as you can imagine, no one right now is hiring.  We spend most days working around the house/yard and try to stay in as much as possible.  I think we’ve ventured out six times in the last two weeks, never further than a few miles from home.  I have a motorcycle project in the garage too, so that helps...

I'm teleworking for the foreseeable future (I'm guessing 2 months). The wife is in Syracuse for school that suddenly turned into a tele-education. Once they lift the stop-move for us (currently projected for May), she might come home early.

No lockdown for AZ, we have a couple of cases in the county which have put everybody in freak-out mode. I went shopping today, and other than the empty shelves from what looks to me like panic buying everything seemed scarily normal. I've only left the property a few times since the 16th.
