Ducati Desert Sleds win Inauguaral Mint 400 Hooligan Class

Hey this is really cool. Three modified Ducati Desert Sleds participated in the Mint 400 desert race in early March and finished 1st and 2nd and it could have been a 1, 2, 3 sweep but for a broken shift lever.

The Desert Sled is named after the large Triumphs, BSAs, and Harley raced in the desert in the early and mid 60s.  Steve McQueen was a desert sled rider on a Triumph before switching to two stroke Husqvarna motorcycles.

By the way Alexander Smith mentioned in the article is the son of off road legend Malcolm Smith
