Ive been searching the net for how to do this and it seems as if only business addresses will work.

I found some cool roads Id like to ride on my way home from Vintage Days at Mid-Ohio this weekend and I'd like to have them in the GPS unit if possible.

Anyone do this or have any ideas?

The route I want to ride.
Ignore the A marker, that's my house, Ill be coming to the B marker from Columbus OH.

Gave it a try.  Got this error msg-

"We were unable to convert your link.  MyMaps will have the text "msid=" in their link.  TakItWithMe is unable to convert Google Driving Directions or Address Searches unless
they are first saved as a MyMap.  Please verify your link and try again."

Not sure how to save as MyMap.

I have been just making my routes on google maps then I will duplicate it on mapsource software from garmin.  not the easiest way.

I will try out takitwithme.  To save the map in google maps you need to make a profile and save it.  It should give you a "save" tab on the top left side.

Seem's there's no (easy) way to save a driving route as a MyMap.

Thanks Google [roll]

I am signed in to my Google acct, but no Save button anywhere.  Tried clicking the My Maps tab and no save button there either.

I discovered this last night.  Seems there's no way, period, to have google trace roads onto a My Map.  You have to manually draw in straight lines.

If there is some trick to get it, someone please let me know.

You should be able to save the map in google maps, then even export it to google earth.  Not sure about how to convert it from there into a gps file, but I think if you have google earth pro (not the free version), it will do it.

edit - just talked to a co-worker gps nerd, and he said this works with waypoints, but not with a route.  He has looked high and low to do gmap to garmin route also, and hasn't found a way.

Was on the phone with Garmin and they said they have no way of transferring a google maps route to the zumo.  I told them about takitwithme.com and they tried it on the phone with me.  They couldn't do it either and said maybe after that site is improved it will be able to do it.

I use GPS Babel to convert from Mapsource to Google, not sure how well it works the other way.

http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/gpsbabel/convert

If that didn't work directly you could try converting the file to plain text first and then to Garmin
