ROAD HAZARDS

Post up if you see foreign elements in the road, unusual traffic delays, Metros on fire, etc..  Please also follow up when it changes or gets resolved.  (sticky?)

Road Closure: Beulah Rd between Rte 7 and Browns Mill will be closed for construction next week through August 28th.  Signs will detour to Trap Rd.

Anyone seen the construction on GW Pkwy?  The signs are still boarded up when I get there.

Norfolk:
Corner of Ballantine Blvd and Virginia Beach Blvd - Trucks from the gravel pit there will occasionally(almost daily) drop a bit of gravel (100# or so), which gets spread out into the SW corner.

Virginia Beach Blvd between Azalea Garden Rd and Military Hwy - Construction on both sides of the road with split lanes, and occasional flagmen. This will continue until the sun goes nova, or the earth explodes, whichever comes first.

Sign on southbound GW Pkwy, just after 123 said closure of right lane begins on 8/1.

8/24 - 8/28 from 8:30PM to 5AM: Night milling and paving on the westbound Dulles Connector Road 267 between 66 and 495.

8/24 - 8/28 from 8AM to 4PM, also 8/29 from 8AM to Noon: Milling and paving on northbound Hunter Mill from 123 to Lawyers.
Same dates and times for Lawyers in both directions between Hunter Mill and Vienna.


Lots of crud on the road this past month, including one rubber bungee cord with metal hooks, at least four of what look like throttle cables, and two tow hitches.  All in the tire path, but all have been removed within one day.
