2001 750 monster oil on top of engine

I have recently purchased a 2001 Monster 750. I have had a few things happen that I need to research.
The first thing was the bike stalled after a 180 degree turn in a lean. Is this something that can happen when fuel is low?
I was turning to the left in a lean and as I came out of it the bike stalled. I'm assuming the tank was low. Does the tank feed from both sides?
The other issue is I have noticed burning oil the second day I took it out. Following the smoke I noticed oil on the top of crankcase behind cylinder two. I had been riding the day before in leans and high revs. The roads are on and island and snaky.
Where is the crankcase breather? I'm assuming the oil is being blown out somewhere.
Thanks for any feed back.

A single fuel feed. If the pump or vacuum tap is faulty then some fuel starvation is possible, more so when the tank is below half full.
Some erratic running can occur if there is carb flooding.
The breather sits on the rear rhs of the crankcase and it and the hoses to it can leak. The airbox can pool some oil too.

Check wiring at steering stem, it rubs to stem and can cause short and intermittent cutting out.

If the breather is good clean the area well and check for a base gasket leak, common on '01s Most have been repaired at this point.

A +1 on howie’s comment for vertica cylinder base gasket. IIRC, Ducati tried a different sealant in ‘01 but it didn’t hold as well & failed over time. If the bike is low mileage, it may have missed the repair.
