Okay, it looks like Danilo will continue the race. He and his bike were recovered by helicopter, so he's gonna be way down in the standings. I'm guessing if he wants to race again next year they'll use the rest of the race for testing. (?)

08:45 Moto: Petrucci continues the adventure!
Yesterday, Danilo Petrucci had to come to terms with dropping out of the race when his KTM suddenly ground to a halt after 115 km, with a fuel pump problem the probable cause. However, the Italian was able to play his trump card and take starter's orders for stage 3, allowing him to continue his rally-raid apprenticeship. In return he received a penalty of more than 11 hours in the overall classification, but “Petrux” is just happy to still be present. “Today is another day,” was his cheerful comment at the start this morning.

Bikes start first as usual. Petrux is getting after it.

08:44 Moto: Petrucci twists the knife
First at WP1, Danilo Petrucci is still on a roll at km 80, where he posted the fastest time by 30 seconds over Joan Barreda. Sherco's Lorenzo Santolino and Rui Gonçalves were third and fourth, respectively, 2′03″ behind 'Petrux'.
