Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Is Deckard a human being?

Yes, I know Ridley Scott has already answered this question officially, saying Deckard is a replicant.
And, I know Harrison Ford said that he believes, or prefers to think, Deckard as human.
...and...he is a human in the book.
I’m fully aware of the fact that the book and the film are two different stories.
Yes, they are that different.
You could say that the film (Blade Runner) is very loosely based on the novel (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?).
But, it is more accurate to say, that Ridley Scott created his story, with some characters and background settings borrowed from Philip K. Dick’s novel.
So, just because Deckard is clearly a human in the book doesn’t mean that Deckard in the film is also a human …
Two different stories, two different characters …
Still, I prefer to think Rick Deckard as human being, and here’s why.
But, first, let me show you what I just got …
The most iconic movie prop gun in the history of modern cinema …
(in my book, anyway.
The 2nd would be the Jackal’s sinper rifle form “The day of the Jackal”,
The 3rd would be Travis’ sleeve gun from “ Taxi Driver, which was actually Smith&Wesson Escort (22LR), even though “Easy Andy” says it’s Colt .25 pocket auto.)
Blaster1
Designed by Bill Doran, printed and assembled by a guy called Mad Scientist in Utah.
All the hard work is already done.
I just need to paint, and install LEDs.
Blaster3
Cylinder opens …
(This part is based on Charter Arms Bulldog .44 special revolver)
Blaster7
Blaster8[/url
You can pull back the bolt handle, and the bolt rotates…
(This part is based on Steyr Mannlicher bolt action rifle…)

Blaster5
Blaster6
I forgot to take photos, but the box magazine (Mannlicher rifle part) comes off, too.

Thanks !
Today, I made this Origami Unicorn
YT_thumb1
So, the video turned out way too long.
BUT, there are some tricky parts that I didn’t want to edit out or fast forward.
Those who are really interested in making a “faithful to the movie prop” version of the Origami Unicorn will find it useful.
Otherwise, just watch the intro and outro.
There is also a simplified version of Origami Unicorn.
But, this one is the closest to the one you see in the movie.
(Like, rear legs showing the white side of the paper.)
The quote from Gaff (Edward James Olmos) is one of my favorites.
“It’s too bad she won’t live! But, then again, who does?”

That's a pretty cool replica, be sure to post pics of it when you get it finished and lit up.
Blade Runner is my favorite sci-fi movie to date. Amazing how it still holds up today. I should re-read the book sometime, somewhere I have this copy that was a tie-in with the movie, despite the differences.

That book cover is cool. (But, yeah, the story is pretty different in the book.)
"If we die,...we go to heaven?"
"2022 Black Out"
(In case you don't know who "Shinichiro Watanabe" is, he's the director of Cowboy Bebop series.

Blade Runner Origami "Chicken"
This one is much easier than Unicorn.
Gaff made it in Brian's office, shortly after they brought Deckard in.
I'm too tired, so I'm going to bed early tonight.

BTW, yesterday (June 12th) was the birthday of "Zhora".
... and she was "retired", by Deckard, November 2019.
(But, she would have died in less than 10 months anyway.)
I'm pretty sure, in the original theatrical version (the one with Deckard's voice over narration), This scene had that voice over, saying something about "shooting an unarmed woman, from behind" ...
He (Deckard) fires 4-shots. The 3rd shot hits Zhora, she falls down, then still trying to stand up and run ,and 4th-round kills her. And "Blade Runner blues" starts playing in the back...
There was no CG back then. All muzzle flash and stunt woman going through glasses are practical.
(Also, the blaster prop for blank firing had thin, flimsy wiring for green LED on the "pencil" part of the blaster.
After firing a couple of blanks, green LEDs quit working. That's why you don't see them being lit in the film).

Painting practice.
Well, sort of.
It's a sort of painting exercise, trying to turn these...
XShot befpre
PKD_before
...into something that can be used as "Hero props" as well as "Stunt props" (for amateure film makers and Youtube content creators level, NOT a Hollywood studio film level), WITHOUT spending big $$$, WITHOUT using some specialized tools (such as compressor and air brush), AND minimum amount of work.
... like these.

Translucent amber / orange grip scales, like original prop

Holster#1
The holster is a faithful replica to the original movie prop from 1982, except for one thing.
The buttoned safety strap.
The angle of the holster looks a little bit awkward by looking at the photo, but that's how it was.
Deckard's holster #@
SBE020_049
(The "original '' prop was made from Safariland shoulder holster Model #1001, which was a front break, vertical style shoulder rig, kinda similar to Bianchi X-15.
The movie prop holster has no retention system other than the spring plate in the holster itself. And the tension of the spring is pretty strong in this type of holsters.
So, if you are planning to do quick draw like Dechard in the film, better get this type of holster (rather than 100% "accurate" construction holster, and use a solid model blaster (no moving parts), otherwise, small, delicate parts will be ripped off when you quickly draw the blaster.
The water gun is perfect, it's lightweight, it has no moving parts other than triggers.)

BTW, BIG THANKS to "Down the rabbit hole" on Youtube, for posting his video.
That's what made me do this project.
