Well, life sucks, ...sometimes.
And, ...s&%t happens, from time to time.

This is a real story that happened to me, just recently.
[For the best viewing pleasure, I highly recommend using quality headphone, as something like laptop's onboard speakers don't have adequate dynamic range. (I spent a lot of time for sound design this time.)]

When it happened (when I found it out), it wasn’t funny, at all.
I was seriously worried about rats started living in inside of the air cleaner box.
(Top portion of the air box lid has been cut off. VERY easy (for rodents) to go inside.)

“What do I do if the rats jump out from the air cleaner box when I flip up the tank?”

.22 air rifle?
No, the pellets will damage my bike (and most likely I will damage other motorcycles / things inside of the garage.)

Chris Reeve Green Beret?

No. Again, I’ll probably end up damaging my own motorcycle.

Cold Steel Brooklyn Slammer?

No. again, I’ll end up hitting my own bike.

So, in the end, I decided to use Ventury Mk8.

I spent last Sunday late afternoon / evening for cleaning up the bike.
Now, the bike is all cleaned up nicely, just like it was before (minus frame slider).

As for preventing rodents’ problem, I’ll by some traps at Ace Hardware.
Also, I got H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme (.22) pellets for killing them.
Am going to try .177 pointy tip pellet, for head shot.

Had to replace the ignition sub loom on a customers M900 that was chewed by rats. I've heard of rat nests in chewed up airboxes.
Had huntsman spiders nesting in a customers ZXR750 airbox.

And the moral of the story is:  Lose the airbox  Grin
