Hi Jill and welcome.

I'm sure there are a few here that have done this, I've done this on a few except my 2010 Streetfighter frame-up build which has a PIC chip and not an Eeprom chip. I think the 2006 has an Eeprom 24C02 chip in the dash which can be interfaced with a CH341 kit (obtainable through amazon cheap), SOIC8 connector and a laptop with the right driver installed- you can get the Eeprom dump from a hex editor. you would need to look for the last lines in the dump that repeated themselves 3 times and the Immo code would also be in Binary and need a quick conversion to see the code(there are several online guides for this btw). If you are not too familiar with this, There are some services out there that will do this for you but do cost a bit of coin such as  SOS Diagnostics.
