Because a long time ago in a galaxy Far Far away...back in 1988 or something. I used to work there. The meat comes in 10 pound packages to be cooked all at once. Now i'm not saying there is anything wrong with the meat but you can bet your bacon they use the cheapest stuff they can. And anyway it's just not that appealing anymore. I would go with the bean burrito instead. The beans are actually cooked right there everyday and broken up with a big drill thing to help them cook faster.

I worked at one when I was 16   [laugh]

I drilled many-a-bean
Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I remember when I was little we used to go to Taco bell down in San Jose. That must have been in 74 -75 something like that. The stores often had a more Mission look to them and faux Bells on the building.

yep, that's the old-style taco bell building before they were merged with the KFC chains.  i wonder if they tried a combination hacienda/plantation look before settling on "generic mini-mall shit"

Taco Bell Alumni, class of about 1990 or so.  We were located in the same parking lot as our local midlife crisis bar, so about 2:00 AM we were up to our eyeballs in drunk assholes.  Lowered dietary expectations seem to bring out the worst in people.  It's not surprising to see such an act of douchebaggery at a Taco Bell is what I'm saying.
I wonder if they still pressure cook and drill-refry the beans?  They went to plastic bag meat about the time I quit...

I used to go to one* in Colorado Springs in the late 60's. It had the fake-Alamo architecture with the bell, no inside seating, and a firepit outside that came in handy during the winter.

*I was in 4th grade, so couldn't very well go anyplace I liked. I hated it at the time. I now have a guilty liking for their "tacos," which were pretty much invented by Mr. Bell. Mexican-style tacos still beat them every time.
