I dont live my life doing things just to please people so they will like me.

So I can't have the M750TE?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Do you see more value in your life than someone who is not as giving?

Not a problem.

This is a complicated issue and needs to be brought up to a group sitting around talking...and lots of beer.

Parents can value their children's lives more than their own (we see it in the movies all the time...so it must be true ;D).

value is a relative term - depending on relationship between whomever you are asking and the valued person.

value to whom???

obviously people who know him will value him more, than someone that doesn't know what a great guy (but pain in the ass!) he is.

Pakhan, please specify.

nope.  I'm human, and am flawed to the heavens.

and because you cant see whats inside somebody elses heart (unless they are dumping thier trash out in Taco Bells drive thru)   [laugh]

is the fireman doing his job because he truely wants to help people, or did he pick the job because chicks dig firemen?

if he's pulling your ass out of a burning car...who cares at that point.

I think anyone can determine their own and other's values.

There is no right value though, it's all perspective that changes from one person to another.  There are only 2 ways to determine your value objectively after death.  If your religious then by god and if your atheist then by how many worms you feed.

I'm happy with myself. I don't care how others feel about me.

There are those who love me a lot.

And there's at least two people out there who would probably shoot me on sight.

Seems pretty balanced.

So if you get robbed and killed for $42 in your wallet, but some one would give $57 million to bring you back, which one is right?

... I'm totally cool with my friends saying "You remember when William bit it?!  That was awesome!  How do you explode in a fireball while being crushed under a waterfall?!  I don't think I'll beat that..."

Depends-did the guy who took the $42 need it more than the person who gave the $57 million? Value of everything is relative....
