What is your life worth?

I say...it's all relative to others, and you have no say in it.

discuss ;)

I learned that your life is worth the sum of all the fun and good memories you have.  I had a roomate who died when he was 20 who had hardly lived life at all.  Since then I have realized that life is presious but is worth nothing if you haven't lived it.  I have a great familly and awesome friends that I still hang with from middle school.  I tend to love like I've never been hurt and live life to its fullest.  I don't worry about money(that much). It is also the reason I ride.  I know everyone on here has had someone ask them why they ride becuase it is so dangerous.  My reply is usually, everything is dangerous.  I love riding and it never fails to brighten my day and put a huge grin on my face.  Some people jump off cliffs or swim with sharks.

My point is life is only worth the fun and good times you have.

but.... of what value is that?  There are gang-bangers out there, who are all about the fun and good times. It just happens to be at the expense of others. You can soak in all that life has to offer, but if you do nothing with it, other than take from life.... is there value in that?

(I am in no way try'n to pick fights, I just am interested in hearing opinions that differ from my experiances  ;))

Are you saying....

The value of your life is what others feel it is.

Yet, you have no say in it?

Can you not influence how people feel about you?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

hells yes to some extent.... but, where is the line in living a life for others and living for yourself?

as an example.

I am me.... I have been the new me for lets say.... the last five years (I say new, because we as humans all evolve)
A few years ago.... I almost bought the farm.
Had I..... Michelle, would have read about me in the paper and thought, huh.... stupid motorcyclist. (zero worth to her)
Today, after having known me a lil while, Michelle (now my wife) would have an entirely different opinion as to what my life was worth.
but.... I was and still am the same person.

I'm the constant, but, because we as humans are in flux.... I could change, which may or may not change the dynamic of others opinions of my worth.

If my life was compared to property in nyc I would be a slum.

You are right though, the value of life is all a matter of perspective.  Most people will see more value in their own life and their experiences compared to another common man.

Well, I know how much 18% of my skin is worth so probably a considerable amount.

Really though, I have a good effect on some a bad one on others.  I don't care how much I'm worth (not fiscal, really or fiscal).  I hope everyone I know has good lives and I help them enjoy the bit of time they get as much as they help me enjoy mine.

... I'm totally cool with my friends saying "You remember when William bit it?!  That was awesome!  How do you explode in a fireball while being crushed under a waterfall?!  I don't think I'll beat that..."

When I was saying that life is about fun and good memories I obviously didn't mean out of harming others or only thinking about myself.  I meant that I surround myself with good people who I have waaay to much fun with and use that time to create memories.  That is what life is about for me.  I do a good bit of volunteer work and other things to help the community and the world in general and yes that makes me feel good but life to me is the experiences I share with those I love and trust.  Just as my family and friends lives mean a whole lot to me mine means a lot to them because of the experiences and love we have shared.

for me...... I want to give more than I take. I want my kids, my family, my friends, to be smarter, faster, stronger, live longer, and be happier than me. Hopefully at the end of my life.... those people in my life will think I was of value to them.

That being said..... I dont live my life doing things just to please people so they will like me.
