 Grin Grin Grin

Speaking of the SPH, she made it out in full garb for a little karaoking on Halloween.  Always good for a laugh.

Hi All, Anyone get out and ride this weekend?, We had '70 deg. Fri. and Sat. here in Canon City. I took the Duc out for a while Fri. Just riding around local with a Friend, and the KZ cafe Yesterday riding to the Gorge, Florence, Wetmore and around town. Alot of crap on the roads, but that is to be expected, still had a good time, enjoying the difference between the two machines is an awsome experiance. Love the modern Ducati with beautiful handling etc.,But riding a 33 year old Jap litreBike, completely rebuilt period correct, with performance mods, really takes You back in time. It makes You remember all the old bikes You grew up with, some better than others, but all special in a certain way. Well gotta do chores Today, hope All had a good Weekend, Keith and Shannon

Today it's all about staying warm!

Saw the post from Randimus Maximus for Ouray.  I rode there two years ago, but with a different group (not Ducati), but the Million Dollar Highway was such a blast!

Is DiTR something more formal, like is sign-up required, etc?  Sorry, since I haven't been quite active yet with the Ducati riders in Southern CO, I am unfamiliar with most of the happenings throughout the year.  Would love to be enlightened, please!

Sorry for the delayed response, damn work taking My time, for the most part, everyone I've met riding with the different groups are nice, easy going, informal, etc.   I have been around other riding groups that are very regimented and "Organized", with a bunch of bullshit rules and ceremonial crap... way too stuffy for the people I know!!     There are some guidelines, be considerate of others, proper gear and safety first, ride Your own ride but don't endanger/offend others, the normal riding rules. As far as an events schedule You will have to keep in touch... We try to get together every other weekend, sometimes someone will just thro' out a ride, ride times will form closer to spring.    The DiTR event is a gathering of riders from all over, Ducati dominated but all riders are welcome, there is no registeration that I am aware of, exept room accomadations. check on the MHM, NMMR, or the General forum for more info. This is a Must Do event, awsome People, good rides, beautiful country.  There are many options for lodging, but reserve a spot early, the place can fill up fast!, as You look around some rent a condo, motels, campground, vans, ask around and find what fits.  I have placed vacation leave and reserved a room, so I will be there again this year, riding out on Fri. the 12th.  Well I gotta start a fire in the shop and finish a project before work Tomorrow, can't wait till Spring, even tho' We had a very mild Winter.....Cheers

KRJ, thanks a ton for the helpful info!  I'm definitely not big on the organized "gangs" either (the ones that have official Presidents and Secretaries with badges and such), so I'm very glad to hear this is more informal.  As far as safety and everything else, this sounds like the typical ride I enjoy most!  I'll keep my eyes open on the SOCO DoG area and the DiTR one, too.

Looking forward to meeting everyone this season.

Awesome post, KRJ!  Aerofaze, I am sure looking forward to meeting up with you for some riding.  I think we should get together for the first WSBK race of the year on Feb 27th and then the MotoGP race of the year on March 20th.  I will be watching both at my house and all are welcome.  I am open to watching them elsewhere, also, if anyone has the urge to host one or we can go to a sportsbar.  If it is at my house, it will be the usual informal get-together.  I'll have some snacks on hand and you are welcome to bring libations of your choice.  As the time gets closer, we can post our preferences.  Also, I guess we should have a meeting and talk about what rides we want to do this season....or not.  I feel compelled to say something officious even though that is the furtherest thing from my mind right now.   coffee

Keith, I did get out on the bike a couple Friday's ago.  I had to register it in Colorado.  My DRAGN plates from New Mexico finally expired so I am now sporting the green and white.  So it was down to APEX to get the VIN inspection and then the DMV.  A small window in the frigid temps allowed me to get it done.  I also have all the parts I need now to make him pretty again.  Still need a front tire before I can roll with complete abandon.  Scottish will be up in the next week or so to help me out with that.  Hope to see you all soon!   [moto]

Hey Mike, did you and Teri go for a ride today?  I would have met you at Montague's if I had caught the post in time.  At least for coffee.  Still needing to get my front tire replaced before I go too far.  The last time I pushed a sketchy tire, I ended up on the side of the road near Ouray.  I'm still paying back the good kharma from that event.  Hope you had fun!

KRJ, I will give you a call when Scottish gets up here.  He is doing some work on my truck, too, so we will see whether a trip down to your garage will be possible.

This will be a great riding season!  Can't wait to get started!

Yes, Teri and I had coffee at 10:30, then we rode to Canon City had some lunch and came back to the Springs, it sure was nice out (windy of course) had a nice relaxing first ride of the year. Next Sunday we will have guests from NY and then the next 3 weekends after that my job will be interfering with riding (and life in general), so maybe we'll see ya in April.
I also will need some tires soon.

Bonfy, I've got the dates down on my calendar, so thank you for the invitation for WSBK and MotoGP watching!!!  Will let you know how the schedule looks as the dates loom closer.

Everyone's info here has been excellent.

The S.O. and I rode yesterday to Woodland Park and back to downtown COS, stopped at Montagues for some tea around 10:30-11AM, then headed up to Castle Rock for lunch then down to Palmer Lake.  Lots of gravel and melt-off in certain places, but it was windy only along the I-25 (we were on the interstate only very briefly) and US-24 corridors.
