I recently put a 944 hi comp kit in my bike.  It burns a little oil.  How long should this last?

It could until the rings seat, or it may never depending on how the clearances were set.

Did you replace valve seals while it was apart?

Whos' kit was it?

Any recs from the seller as to breakin?

It has been so long ago that I can't remember who's kit.  The valves were done at the same time.  I have no info on break in.  I have been riding the bike and it runs great except for a minor jetting issue and it's burning a small amount of oil.  Any recommendations on break in?  I think the pistons were purchased and the cylinders were bored and replated (don't know if this helps)

Sounds like blow-by to me.  Rings didn't seat properly either due to poor break-in procedure, or not properly honing the cylinder at re-build.

At this point, it's my guess that you will just have to get use to adding a little oil every now and again.

My Honda only has one compression ring and one oil ring.. usually there are two... so by design you get a little oil useage.  Designers have many reasons for this... but the point is that it's not that big of a deal.  Just be careful not to run it too low.
