How to use tools

this month

I saved 250 bucks in plumbing repairs, by doing the work myself

I saved 75 bucks by doing my own yard work

I saved about 1500 bucks by doing my own bodywork on the 1098 ((oops)

I'll save 40 bucks by cutting the glass I broke on lms new picture frame (oops)

I saved 150 bucks by hanging ceiling fans myself.

Before the boys went back east, I spend a couple of hours out in the garage with them, just having them take apart some old clocks lm's dad gave them.   They had a blast.

I think we may take apart the roto-tiller when they get home.  :D

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

I'm pretty glad my dad sat down with me and we fixed my car when ever it had an issue or built stuff or whatever in general.  What an invaluable ability.  It has carried over to a lot of things.  I couldn't imagine having to call someone for routine repairs.  I have, in turn, becom pretty handy.  Maybe not the best guy with a wrench, but decent enough.

... I'm totally cool with my friends saying "You remember when William bit it?!  That was awesome!  How do you explode in a fireball while being crushed under a waterfall?!  I don't think I'll beat that..."

+1

I remember working on cars all the time with my Dad. And not only did I get a good intro to things mechanical, I got to learn new words.  ;)

And don't forget the girls!  I have a very hickish father who has taught me how to do everything from hunt and fish to changing the oil in my car and building birdhouses!  I can't tell you how much money I save doing things on my own, plus it's nice to hear guys say, "so you ARE more than just a pretty face!" ;D

I don't think anyone meant to exclude us female types...just happens that bp only had boys around to teach these things to.  I could be wrong.
