Anyone else planning a MotoGP ride on the first weekend in Oct? I'm currently planning on leaving work early-ish on Friday afternoon, getting a few hours south of Sydney and stopping the night, then spending Saturday riding through the mountains and down to Philip Island, then Home again Monday. (It'll be a _leisurely_ trip this time, I won't have to ride all the way home on Sunday night after the race!)

Updated link includes the run via Tarana and Lake Lyall. Is that the one you are talking about Super?

Yep, that's the one.  waytogo

p.s. I'm still laughing at the T.I.B. bit.

Right. So we get the best man to arrange to have the Monster parked out the back of the reception venue with your riding gear, all the groomsmen queued up to keep topping the brides champagne glass up all night, then you piss off after the reception on the bike, join us at the races on Sunday, and show up at the honeymoon hotel Monday morning saying "Hey Mrs Super T.I.B, I thought I'd let you sleep off that hangover yesterday, aren't I thoughful?"

Interesting side note.

I head into Emu Plains from Windsor every Friday arvo to get some fresh coffee off Morgan's then head up "old Balthurst Rd" join the GW highway, turn off at Springwood and head back down to Yarramundi. I seem to always need to do a couple of laps of the twisties though - six times last Friday  waytogo

For some reason though I seem to be wearing my tyres more than I used to?

The Bathurst run is a good one - the map looks good  waytogo

Last time, we worked it for a late breakfast in Bathurst, and then a coupla quick laps around the mountain and then promptly left town. The residents up the mountain like to inform the  Police when there are people having a little fun in their backyard, so its best to be relatively quick in and out.

As for dates, Sat 13th Sept works for me, and pretty much nothing else  Sad . Got a lot going on over Sept / Oct, so if that date doesn't work out, then I'll catch you people on the next one  waytogo
