Hello to Arizona!
«
on:
August 06, 2008, 06:24:58 AM »
Hello,
Thought I should pop in an introduce myself. My name is Norris and I just pulled into Phoenix day before yesterday to attend the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI). My permanent home is about 80 miles East of Dallas, Texas and I also can be found at the DFWM forum area.
I ride an 07 S4RS and an 05 H-D Superglide Sport (the "Sport" part is mostly euphamism; but I love it anyway).
Looking forward to my time here (66 weeks at least) and hoping to meet some of you on the road.
Best,
Norris

Welcome to AZ... this part of the forum is kind of slow, but Satuday nights a lot of riders show up at the Scottsdale Pavillions (Indian Bend & the 101)... you'll probably do a lot of meeting of various Euro bike riders there... and squids... lol...

Welcome. +1 on the Pavillions. It is a nice place to ride to when the sun goes down and we get a little break from the heat. Keep an eye out because we usually post up about planned rides. It has been a little slow lately, but that's summer in Phoenix. We still do TT Roadhouse almost every Tuesday so that is also a good place to meet some folks. The AZ Ducati Owners club also gets together a couple time a month for events. The last one was at the indoor go kart track for a little friendly competition.
See you on the road.

LOL! Thanks Scott!
Hey, sorry to all for not responding, and thanks for the replies. Had to change apartments right after arriving in Phoenix. Also, my computer crashed and I didn't even have internet till yesterday morning.
Looking forward to meeting some of ya'll. Will definitely check out Pavillions!

Norris-
What part of town did you end up in?
Depending on the weather next Sat, maybe we can do a late afternoon run to Bartlett Lake and then end up at Pavilions? It's a nice little "intro to AZ" run in the north east valley that only takes about 1-1/2 hours round trip including stops to BS.
Anyone else interested?

I was thinking this Saturday. It's going to be a clear & sunny summer day, only around 106 degrees...
Actually it's a few degrees cooler up through Cave Creek, not that it makes that big of a difference. I'll try to time the ride so we goet out of Bartlett before dusk, but hit Pavilions at sunset. Maybe I'll post it up in a separate thread...

What time Saturday and where's the "link-up" taking place? If I don't hear back I'll just go on up and hunt you down on the road. I'll take a shot at being on the Pima-Bartlett roadways around 6pm and stopping at the Pavilions on my way back to Tempe. DG
