Life is not AROUND the corner, Life IS the corner!

« on: August 13, 2008, 05:25:42 AM »

Anyone here have this bad boy installed on an S4RS and is relatively nearby (Sonoma). My DP hugger is no longer usable after I resolved my 6.0 rear BST clearance and 520 conversion. Because I wanted to keep my gearing the same as the 14/43 setup I was running but had to change in order to gain additional clearance and to be able to make future chain adjustments etc. I had to remove the DP hugger so I could move the wheel forward enough to run a 15/45 (tried to run a 15/46 to be near-identical to the 14/43 but no go). So I would like to see a bike with the Shift-Tech unit on it to see if it will clear the tire in my arrangement.

Of course I'm willing to travel a bit to see one. Or, if you could take some killer pics and measurements for me in the critical clearance areas, that would work too. Guess I'll be selling my DP unit.  Cry

That all depends on if the Shift_tech unit will work for me. Otherwise I may end up modding the DP unit to work. I'll post up here and in "for sale" if I decide to sell it.

I don't know if it's kosher to post TOB link http://www.ducati.ms/forums/showthread.php?p=390679 since I'm new here, but here are some pics

I just installed one on my S2R. Let me know if you need more pictures than the ones on the TOB.

Thanks, I've seen Asado's pics.

What I really need are some measurements. It will be difficult because I need them done with everything in place (hugger and tire). I need to know the distance your rear tire (a 180 still, I'm assuming) is from the swingarm at the front and how much of that distance (the overall thickness of the hugger) that is taken up by the hugger. Last but not least, my main clearance issue with my DP unit is at the outer 1.5-2 inches of my tire, which is now a 190.

Jaman is installing his and works close to me so I 'may" be able to get some measurements from his bike next week, but any additional measurements anyone can provide are always welcome and appreciated. A'int customizing grand!!  Roll Eyes

Good to meet you, the missus, and "little one"!

Sorry we didn't get your issue taken care of, thanks for all your help in getting mine resolved tho!

And yes, the magicical properties of CF are a beautiful thang... just getting the hugger on dropped 5-10 lbs, and added 7-10 hp!

Sure np. I got skills!!  Grin At least I know for a fact going in that the shift-tech won't fit out of the box and would need even more modification than we had to do for you

Hehehe.... What? No MPG increase? I feel cheated!!
