Here's a picture with the cans pulled off. I wanted to get an idea of what it would look like when I get the undermounted exhaust.  waytogo

you might want to check the total suspension travel length to make sure you have room until full compression.

I have been thinking about a single side exhaust. kinda like they did with that offroad monster. http://www.terramostro.com/gallery.cfm
you could simply cut the exhaust at the crossover and then run a single exhaust

Thanks for the advice, but I'm ordering a boomtubes exhaust system from Motocreations. He said it would be ready for the 696 in December sometime and it's a plug and play system.

Not sure. I'm assuming that it may be the chrome tips on the end of the pipes or something like that.

I emailed the guy that makes them and he wrote me back and told me what I said before about December.

I've just completed the vinyl on the front forks, painted the air intake screens black, and had the handlebar risers powder coated black. I'm not sure if I'm going to paint the stock cans black yet. I'm going to get an set of boomtubes as soon as they're released for the 696. I'm sure I'll get bored and just paint them until I get the other ones.

As soon as I get the black ceramic coated boomtubes, she'll be totally Murdered.

Are you planning to ceramic coat the exhaust from the cylinder to the cans?  I saw a motorcycle exhaust coated in matte black, and it looked pretty sweet.  Would look really nice with what you are going for I think...

This is flat black ceramic coated exhaust.

Since your going with boom tubes just do the high temp rattle can black.
