I reckon I was up there around 4 or so.  I think there are a few other bikes out there that could benefit from 5mm drop in the front end. Nothing bad shows up (so far) from that. Also, I'm going to ask Dan Kyle if he has Showa replacement springs or if he could recommend someone who does.

HA!  We were up there at right around the same time, as I left my house around 3:30.

DAMN son.  Whadya get?

Sorry folks, had a really busy afternoon between a wedding and picking a friend up at the airport.  But, for those that know him, Tony (Burns) is back and living in my spare bedroom.

So we were kinda tossing the '09 GLI and the '10 JSW TDI back and forth.  The GLI was going to be super-cheap and, of course, more fun.  The 'Wagen had better amenities and 30-42 mpg.  Neither had a sunroof  :'(  Oddly, I was kinda drawn to it more, mainly because the interior was so nice and the amount of bodies I could cram in the back.  You know, if necessary.  I dig the plaid upholstery on the GTI/GLI, but the fabric was kind of uncomfortable.  Jen was leaning toward the JSW as well, even though it was more expensive.

So, we got it. It took some finagling, but we got a decent price on it and it's not silver!  Oh, thanks be to My Bacon God.  The cool thing is, Jen thinks it was her decision, and that I compromised.  Tee hee.  That means I get to make the next car decision.   [thumbsup]

Pics forthcoming.....

swapped forks on a guy's m750, somehow he had Marzochi and was installing HyperPro rebuilt Showa forks....couldn't work on rear, he had the wrong spanner....fits my bike not his...I'll keep bike for a couple of days so today I sort of tuned the front, giving him 25mm from top of fork to top of triple, he was happy....me still waiting for plastics from paintshop...

That's a lot of drop if the forks are the same length. Even more drop if the replacements are shorter than the originals. What is he trying to achieve?

Showas are a bit longer, based on OEM settings, they call for 17mm on his bike, but, 20mm on  mine, he has the wanted the same height as with the Marzochis, but, the paperwork that came with the forks stated that the compression/rebound had already been set for a 180lbs  rider so I didn't touch that, just gave him what he wanted...the same height. Me, I'll be loking for sharper steering so for now my forks are set at 22mm, once I get all parts from paintshop, I'll do sag at the rear at least, got Marzochi at the front, but, RaceTech prepped for a 190lbs rider like me....
Nice Super Bowl....Good game....
