OK....now, that's different....
F1 race very interesting....

Guess I should go watch.  After all, the beer isn't entertaining me enough.

I nominate the KTM SuperDuke as the new king, hands down. That bike is evil and damned good all rolled into one!   [evil] [moto] [evil]

I told you that bike was nimble...okay, what I actually said was that it felt more nimble than the SF, which was/is my only recent frame of reference... ;D

Sure was.  The SD decided it didn't want me to ride around Keith anymore, so it shit the bed.  We were going into the Ewa off ramp and the shifter linkage just happened to fall off the damned thing. So, coasted the bike to a stop, looked around for it a bit (to no avail) and called it a day.  Luckily Anne was able to call her boyfriend who came to pick me up in their truck.  Thanks again Anne, I owe you guys!!  I went back later to have a look around and it was gone gone gone.  Then went down to the local hardware stores in hopes of finding something, no luck.  Seems that dual sided, threaded rods with opposing metric threads are not in very high demand on this island.  ;)  Anyhow, Scott down at SS had something close to what I needed, but it was just a bit long.  Big props to Scott for looking though, and not charging me for the piece.

Anyhow, wake up this morning and call KTM Temecula, where I bought the bike.  Told them the story and asked if they happened to have the part in stock.  Of course they don't, but they offer to order one and have it overnighted to them, and then overnight it to me.  And here's the best part, they are not charging me to ship it and also giving me the part at a 50% discount.  I tell you guys, if you EVER decide to pick up a KTM, you simply have to give these guys a call.  Have seen nothing but extreme customer service out of these guys!!

????...not familiar with that phrase as it pertains to motorcycles, is it KTM specific?

Nope, pretty much just KTMs.  But it looks like they still have a couple '08 Super Dukes laying around.

I have a couple of these types of parts at home that you could borrow if your Temecula guys don't get it too you soon enough. How short does it have to be? If the piece that Scott gave you is too long we could cut it and tap it. You asked me if I had one at the shop. Nope, but there's a rear set at home that needs to be sold.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Thanks Rick.   [thumbsup]  The part should be here from 3Bros tomorrow, so that should do.  Unless of course you happened to bring one down to the shop with you today.  ;)

Kind of ironic really, as I was supposed to take the thing into Domenico's this evening so it could have its valves checked tomorrow...
