Priced tires for the SF at the dealer this morning (120/70/17 & 190/55/17)...

Dunlop Q2s - $570 the set.
Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs - $600 the set.
Pirelli Corsa III - $321 rear only.

Includes mounting and balancing, but not tax...no military discounts on tires...

Mounting & balancing is $75 per tire if you bring your own.

No, just the getting to DC part.  Looks like I am going to have to fly into LA, then rent a car and drive the rest of the way.

How many days and 2,500 miles give or take a few? What's that going to run? Plus you have to get rid of the dog stink in the car.

Well, it looks like I can rent a mini-van for nine days, and that will cost me about $400 per week.  The AF will comp me $109 a day, plus $.16 per mile for the trip, so I can actually make out ahead as long as I take advantage of the hospitality of fellow DMFers.

That and the fact that I don't want her couped up in the travel kennel for so long.  The flight to Denver is a little over seven hours, then a three hour lay over before the three hour flight to DC.  That's just too much.
