All the Ducati's made the 1290SDR possible!

« Reply #3105 on: October 14, 2010, 08:15:36 AM »

Only small stuff to improve safety and handling. Steering damper and footpegs. I think I found some nice pegs with super good grip and I won't have to get completely new rear sets. Won't look totally bling but that's OK.

No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Sato Racing.  They don't list pegs for the Streetfighter but you can always call & ask them. I had Sato pegs on the 999. The soles of your boots get a bit torn up but your foot doesn't slip off.

Ah!  Those look nice too.   waytogo

And, I just noticed that they're making rear sets for the Super Duke now.

I just looked at the SD rearsets. You wouldn't be sorry.  [moto]

Don't imagine that I would, but a PCIII comes first on that bike.

No, not yet.  It will end up waiting until the next scheduled service, which will come in about 800 miles.  The dealer here (as close to here as I can call it) has a dyno capable of mapping each cylinder separately, so I wanted them to do it.

Went down to the shop where Rick was kind enough to take some db readings on my Akras with the mod B baffles installed...as I suspected it's a bit quieter than his Termis with the end cap mod, sounds just about right to me...waytogo

When he closed up we swapped bikes and took the freeway to SSD...[moto]...his 848 is sweet, you can almost steer it by mental telepathy...Evil

From SSD I went home and harvested some apple bananas...yummy!...Grin

Gene's Streetfighter is sweet!  A tad more civilized than the KTM SD as far as throttle response goes but no less an animal. It's made me rethink my priorities a bit. Hypermotard on steroids!!  Evil [moto]

I may pull out the baffles on the 848 tonight.....

And I also know what Gene is talking about regarding the suspension settings and I already have ideas for the better ......

Off to get a Shack burger and watch MotoGP.

I forget. Screwdriver or Allen head adjustments on the damping?

Screwdriver for the front comp & reb and rear comp, allen head for the rear reb accessed through a puka in the swingarm...I pretty sure the 3mm allen under the pillion cover fits the rear reb...

Just wait.  There might be a new intake going on the SD, along with the obligatory PCIII, over the winter.  So far, most everyone who has had this system dyno-mapped has reported a healthy increase in mid-range power, between 4500-7500 rpm.  Just where you'd want it.   Evil

YES!

That is all.

Rick made some adjustments to the compression damping fore and aft this morning, suspension feels like it's working better on the rougher patches of H1...and still feels good in snake road type turns... Grin

Rick, do you remember the settings?...I forgot to write them down.
