There's an interesting comparison between the Aprilia and the Buell 1125 in this month's Motocyclist. Both use a Rotax engine being the main justification.  The Buell seems to get shot to pieces but they like most things about the Aprilia except that it's "down on power" and needs to be updated. Cracks me up a bit that an engine thats getting around 130 hp is down on power. Comparitively speaking yes but most riders wouldn't know or care unless they were very competant riders and/or on a track.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Last night we were on the sidewalk on Lumi'aina (Waikele) watching the Hickam & Pearl Harbor fireworks. Around 9:00 a red 1098/848 stops at the red light. :)
Funny thing was he kept inching into the crosswalk as if that would make the light change faster.  [clap]

Couldn't distinguish 848/1098 because we were already walking to the park.

Saw this old Triumph at the Aloha Stadium show on Friday

MadDuck

Just goes to show you that someone can take a good looking bike and make the beast with two backs it up.

I took pics of that bike, too  ;D and FTR I liked that triumph

the trickest bike I saw wasn't even in the show... we parked behind him...

one-off frame, built FJ 1100 motor, brembos, 4-4 pipes, v-rod headlight... and the frenched plate is just plain hotness!  cool guy, to boot...

Didn't know if you received the pic that I tried to send you over the phone or not.

Wait a tic!  You sure that isn't a 696's headlight?

Two nice SBKs today.  Red 998 parked at my building as I was leaving work this afternoon, and then another red 916/996/998 coming down the hill from Camp Smith as well.  Starting to see more and more of these things around.  Need to find out whose 998 that was so I can get them out on our next ride.

MadDuck

That's a great question. Where are these bikes? I know a couple of the older 916 style bikes come by early some weekends, just by themselves and only now & then. The more regular suspects that come whizzing by almost never have any, not even 1098's. I saw a white 848 last Sunday going through downtown Kaneohe with a group of 4 to 5 Japanese bikes. Are we the odd ducks because we're in a group?

I would hope not, but it does sometimes seem that way.  It was nice when we had Chad working at the dealership to hype the club up.

I think I am going to make up some cards and start carrying them around with me so I can hand them out when I see another Duc rider...

MadDuck

I hadn't thought of that actually but now that you bring it up the old cards we got when we were Titanium members of the DML no longer have any real validity. I guess I can throw that stack away.
