going to check it out this morning after a sort ride...

And?     [popcorn]
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Stopped by SS BMW to see the S1000R this morning...

Nice riding position with the handle bars vice clip-ons, but you'll need big hands/long fingers for the clutch & brake levers.

From the rear and rear quarter views it looks great, from the front the headlight nacelle presents a face that only a mother could love...it's a large bulky affair that looks to be an afterthought hastily hung in place.  Side view is better, but it appears longer than it's 56.7 inch wheelbase...SF is 58.1 but looks shorter.  Radiator is massive, making the bike very wide at that point like the Ninja Z1000 (no can help I guess with an I4).

Appearance wise it's just not my cup of tea.

RICK!!!
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

and if that's not in your budget, they had two RSV4 APRCs, one in the same flat black as the Factory and another in a luscious red...if I could handle the sport bike riding position, I might be working on getting the red one... ;D

Did you sit on it Gene?  Those Apes are more comfortable than they look.

I've sat on them before...they don't feel that bad in the showroom, but on the road I know my neck would take a beating from having to look up while in a crouch...pretty much the same with any sport bike...

That's too funny. I saw those Ape's last week when I was down there. Funny, they had a buyer on the matt black one. Must not have gone through.  I love the red one. Trying not to get a sport bike but who knows..........

I came about this >< close to buying a new BMW today but I held off. The face is OK. I have more of a problem with how wide the bodywork is around the radiator. Had my finger on the trigger but just couldn't squeeze it.

With the SFS out of production and no KTM dealership here, new bike options are getting slim for me...I guess I could tone it down some and go with...

Monster 1200/1200S or,

Speed Triple/Speed Triple R, or

FZ-09 (I read that a fix for the suspension and throttle touchiness is only about $1500 away)

It is wider, no doubt.  You could look at it, turn around 180 and look at a RR and turn again. Wider.

The Monsters are looking OK.  I'm checking out Streetfighters on the west coast but still ..... The KTM is far away too, both in terms of cost, shipping, delivery time & no warranty service here...... but it is far & away my choice ...... dunno......
