On the showroom floor at SSD...
KTM 1290 SD...complete with leaking clutch fluid reservoir hose...
No. Really? Leaking on the floor?

More like weeping, the hose connecting the res to the mc was damp and had collected some dirt...
Bike kinda looked like it had been sitting out, or had been ridden in damp conditions and then not cleaned good...front side of the handlebar, looking at the bike from the front, was either dirty or corroded, nooks & crannys also had dirt...and it almost looked as if a gasket on the bottom of the engine had a weep or two.
Of course I'm just an aging geezer so maybe I was just imagining this stuff.

Aside from all of that, how did it look?

In orange, like a big dirt bike...
Actually it looks pretty mean, it's tall, wide at the front of the tank, but when you sit on it it's narrow like a V-twin should be...seat is typical KTM, hard like a 2x6. It sorta mimics the F1098, but overall the finished product doesn't compete with a Ducati or BMW. I think it's the color impregnated plastics that make it look cheap, taking away some of the bling that it's competitors have.

Update: The bike is a demo that came over from Maui...and someone had a good ride on it as evidenced by the 3/8" chicken strips on the rear tire...

The bike, and quite easily at that. It's impossible to get a car anywhere here in a hurry.

New series SDR making some noise as it went past me while leaving work today. Must have had a full Akra system, as it sounded pretty good when he got on it.
