you guys that are not coming out are missing a lot of two wheeled fun...
Sigh... I know, I know. I'll be back in the saddle after the 31st of this month. I miss spending my Sunday morning with friends, zipping around town. Meanwhile, I'll settle by living vicariously through this thread!

The first Sunday of Feb is Super Bowl day so that might be one of the shorter rides, for me anyway.

I'll be busy that Sunday with visitors from the mainland...hoping for a good ride this coming Sunday, but the forecast at this point is calling for showers...

Not to mention that this Sunday is Pro Bowl Sunday and traffic around the Stadium is going to be the pits.

Well, that was really smart wasn't it?
JK ( Boss-ski did the same thing on his bicycle. He thought he'd go for a quickie Tantalus run. Hee Hee )

Well fine. It was so clear and brightly moonlit last night that I swear I saw dark blue sky and not just black sky. Seems like it should still be good this morning. Wish I could go. Maybe in another 6 or 7 years.

Went for a hour and a half ride this morning...good to be out on two wheels, but as I've said before, it's just not the same doing a solo gig...

Looks like we are under flash flood watch 'til Monday. Doesn't that usually translates to bright and sunny day if we stay home?

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HONOLULU HI
356 PM HST SAT JAN 26 2013
LIGHT TO MODERATE SOUTH WINDS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY...AHEAD
OF A COLD FRONT APPROACHING FROM THE NORTHWEST. THE FRONT IS
EXPECTED TO REACH KAUAI ON SUNDAY...THEN MOVE DOWN THE ISLAND
CHAIN THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY. LOCALLY HEAVY SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE STARTING OVER KAUAI LATE TONIGHT...AND
REACHING OAHU SUNDAY AFTERNOON. MAUI COUNTY CAN EXPECT THE
INCLEMENT WEATHER STARTING SUNDAY NIGHT. TRADE WINDS ARE EXPECTED
TO RETURN WEDNESDAY...WITH DRY CONDITIONS AND LIMITED WINDWARD
SHOWERS.
EXPECT A SLIGHT DECREASE IN SHOWERS THIS EVENING BEFORE AN
INCREASE AFTER MIDNIGHT AS MOISTURE MOVES IN THE FROM THE WEST.
OVER OAHU...THE TIMING OF WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN HAS A LITTLE LESS
CONFIDENCE AS OUR TWO MAIN GLOBAL MODELS CONTINUE TO DISAGREE. THE
GFS CONVERGES THE PRE-FRONTAL BAND AND THE FRONT MONDAY AFTERNOON
OVER BOTH KAUAI AND OAHU...WHILE THE ECMWF WEAKENS THE BAND AND
MOVES IT NORTH BEFORE REACHING OAHU...AND THEN LOCATES THE FRONT AND
HEAVY RAINS OVER KAUAI AND OAHU SUNDAY EVENING. THE OFFICIAL
FORECAST CONTINUES WITH WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINS REACHING OAHU IN
THE AFTERNOON...BUT THIS TIMING MAY BE TWEAKED OVER THE NEXT 12 HOURS
AS DATA BECOMES AVAILABLE. MAUI COUNTY CAN EXPECT HEAVIER SHOWERS
SUNDAY AFTERNOON AS WELL BUT MORE SO OF THE SCATTERED VARIETY THAN
WIDESPREAD. BY SUNDAY NIGHT BOTH GFS AND ECMWF HAVE THE FRONT
PUSHING WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINS INTO MAUI COUNTY WITH CONDITIONS
IMPROVING OVER KAUAI...BUT WIDESPREAD RAINS REMAINING OVER OAHU.
So I guess we'll see in the morning. Not looking promising.
