Great fun to ride, but sure is tall.

PS. if anyone is looking for a great red S2r1k, ask for Chris at the Duc/BMW store Plano.

How cool!! Don't ever let me ride it, ever. They look like the most fun you could have on two wheels. I remember when we had a group dinner with the AMS crowd before the bikes were officially released (can't remember the name of that uptown restaurant??). I was seated next to Jeff and Toni and we talked about the Desmosidici and the Hypermotard, both unreleased at the time. He went nuts talking about the pre-production Hyper he had at the shop! Went on and on about how much fun he had riding it and how they needed to send it back before he got arrested!! It wasn't just promo BS, it was honest motorcycle excitment coming from a guy who's ridden everything. Right then and there I told myself to never ride one! laughingdp

I started out looking/test riding 848/1098's (pure sex), as me and the S2R did not bond as strongly as I hoped.  This demo hyper had the DP comfort seat, which lowered it just enough for me to tiptoe.    1st ride was really pleasant, smooth, torquey, and really nimble.  Made the sbk's feel like medevil racks in comparison.  Took a couple of weeks of rationalization, but this is the right bike for the in town riding I do 98% of the time.  Incredibly comfortable riding position (I had been really stretched out on my S2R), ultra nimble handling, surpisingly strong midrange, and wheelies with little effort.  The mean looks are just a bonus.   It just goads you into misbehaving  Grin

If you try one, you will want one  waytogo

Tell me about it.  I'm having to force my self not to take a test ride every time I stop at AMS!  cheeky

Very nice ride!  I ended up test riding the AMS "Marlboro" Hypermotard S they had downtown several months ago - what an awesome ride!  If I had more room in the garage, I'd start saving my lunch money for the thing  laughingdp

GRATS!

Awesome new ride man  bacon

I also rode AMS's Marlbro Hyper, the same day I test rode my S4RS. I pulled away from the stoplight turning right onto Industrial, and goosed it which was like hitting a front wheel anti-gravity switch or something  Shocked I value my license, and my insurance rates too much to own one of those  Evil

Keep the rubber side down, and watch out for  Police

I think we need a 12 step program and some group support too make sure no one in the mob test rides one of these evil, addictive contraptions. I need to check with Jennifer but I am sure that test riding one violates several sins in the Catholic church. We must band together to save ourselves. Quick, someone get a mod to ban webspoke from posting anymore pictures or ever mentioning this "thing" again!! laughingdp

Nice bike!  I would have an insane amount of scooters if I could $ it, and the hyper would be at the top of my list!!  Looks like a lot of fun!  Smiley
