Carpet cleaners

Yeah... gotta do some domestic chores.  Having a big doggie and light colored carpets has impressed upon me the need for a carpet scrubber gizmo.  So I'm looking for some FHE based recommendations.

Right now, the leader looks like the Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac

But then we have Hoover F7427900 SteamVac Dual V TurboPower and the SteamVac All Terrain
clocking in at about $100 more than the F5914-900 model.  The two more expensive ones to have some flasher features, and the 'AT' version does hard flooring also but (of course) is the most costly of the 3.

But, are they worth the $100 more?
Is there another line I should look at to get the best bang for the buck?

We have a Bissel that we got at Costco a few years back.  It works great.  We have a 100 pound dog and our cats live with the in laws.  We use it both places.  Does a good job and is easy to use, the parts dry well, and it is lightweight.

the lil bissel works great but, you have to drain the waste water after every use. dont let it sit. if you let if sit a day or so, if you use it again.... the warm air thats vented out will gag you.

Oh yeah... I ended up storing someones who was moving around a bit.  I realized it had water still in it from being used before I was keeping it.  I though it'd be good to dump it.. it was good.  But it'd have been better if I'd fitted up my respirator since it'd been sitting for days... 

I was thinking one of the bigger units, since I'm looking at hitting up several rooms and 2 sets of stairs.  The lil'um there would take ages to knock those jobs out, even in my little house

I used to have a Bissell, worked pretty well, but never as well as the Rug Doctor you can rent from the hardware store.  Now I just rent one when I need it.

I use the same one for piddles as well. I'd give it a thumbs up.

I never saw the need to buy one this heavy duty. But that's just me. I just borrow one a few times a year to get the heavy traffic ick up.

we have a Bissel Pro Heat as well that we got at costco.
1 dog and two kids can make a mess. We have the squigee attachment for the front and use it on the hard
floors as well.
